Overview

Joya Playground is one of the most unique and thoughtfully designed parks in North Texas. Located in Farmers Branch at the corner of Tom Field Road and Valley View Lane, this vibrant destination is part of the Oran Good Park complex and reflects the city’s continued investment in innovative outdoor spaces.

Spanning thousands of square feet, the playground features a mix of modern design, interactive features, and natural sensory play areas that appeal to both younger kids and big kids alike. From the moment you arrive, the standout play feature—the futuristic 27-foot sphere—draws your attention and sets the tone for the entire experience.

The playground was brought to life through funding support including the Federal American Rescue Plan Act and a wildlife grant in partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife, highlighting the commitment of Farmers Branch city staff to enhancing the city’s parks system. Since the grand opening of Joya Playground, it has quickly become a favorite gathering space for both residents and visitors.

What really makes this park special is how it transforms after sunset. The colorful LED lighting, glowing lights, and glow seating create a one-of-a-kind dark playground experience that feels almost like stepping into a futuristic park.

Joya Playground Plan

We planned a trip to the Dallas area for a couple of days before Thanksgiving based around making it to Joya Playground. A few years ago, when we saw the concept art, Ryan was fascinated and would ask every few months when we would go to “that one cool playground.” Finally, we decided it was time to make a trip. We booked a couple of nights at the Drury Plaza Hotel Dallas Richardson with some friends, and the playground was our first stop in the area.

  • Multiple levels of large hammocks for climbing and relaxing
  • Swings positioned throughout the park
